Hello Week of October 11th!

The theme for this week is Employee Experience. What does that mean to you? Are you tired of hearing this buzz-phrase? Does it cause you to roll your eyes? Or, does it spark feelings of joy? You may be thinking this theme is aimed more towards what businesses need to do, but as many of us are employees ourselves, we may all find some connection and areas we can tend to this week. Now more than ever with the changes imposed upon us amidst the pandemic, the universe is paying attention to employees and their needs. Many employers have had to quickly pivot to remote work environments that necessitate the need to rethink expectations, policies, etc. The ripple effect has resulted in culture shifts overnight, making effective communication more critical now than ever.

Consider these Core Contemplations:

Employees:
-What experiences make you feel connected to your business and want to do your best work?
-What do you need from your employer?
-How is your relationship with your manager? How do you give and receive feedback?
-Are you provided with the expectations, training, tools, and feedback needed to do your job?
-How would you describe your company’s culture?

Employers:
-How do you ensure you’re paying attention to the changing needs of the employees?
-What practices do you employ to connect your direct reports and teams to your organization? -How much time do you spend with your direct reports? How do you give and receive feedback? What do you do with the feedback you receive?
-How do you ensure timely communication and a safe space for employees to provide feedback that drives organizational change?
-How do you measure/evaluate leadership effectiveness? What do you do with the results?
-How would you describe your company’s culture? Are there areas in need of change?

Please check us out each day this week on Facebook (@CoreEndeavors) to explore how you can both create and enjoy a more fulfilling work experience!
