Prioritizing Self-CareA New Year can spark lots of new energy and ideas—it can also be overwhelming and stressful. Regardless of how you are experiencing the beginning of 2025, a little self-care is likely in order. This month’s blog encourages self-care while cautioning about self-comfort—knowing the difference can have a real impact on how you ultimately feel. The tip this week provides some hints if you engage in counseling, therapy or coaching (powerful tools for self-care!), and the inspiration is a recommended book full of uplifting and thoughtful quotes. With continued focus on self-care, I’m revamping the Wellbeing During Trying Times online series Core Endeavors provided in Spring 2020 when Covid arrived. It was geared toward helping people during a time of elevated uncertainty and stress. Things seem a bit extra stressful now for many people and offering a place to check in weekly to focus on personal and professional health and wellbeing seems relevant and timely. It will begin in March and be free, with a “pay as you can” opportunity. Please complete this brief questionnaire to learn more and help me better ensure it meets collective needs and availability. Don’t forget about upcoming workshops! There is still time to register for Resetting Resilience! on Feb. 4! This virtual session includes a Resilience Assessment and tips and tools to reset and recharge your resilience reserves—self-care tips abound. Madison-area women—don’t miss the in-person Menopausability™ Retreat on Feb. 22. Join us at the Goodman Community Center to reflect and rewrite your menopause story, putting self-care at the core.
Identifying and getting what you need is important. Put yourself first in ways that provide healthy, sustainable support—it’s not selfish to do so.
